Member Monday: Armstrong Fluid Technology Changes the Game as a Fire Sprinkler Pump Supplier
NFSA staff sat down with Jesse Baker, National Sales Manager at Armstrong Fluid Technology to discuss the company’s history, products and services, and relationship with the NFSA.
Armstrong Fluid Technology was founded 100 years ago and started as a basic mechanical and pumping solutions manufacturer. Today it has grown into a global company with staff, offices, and foundries worldwide.
A Wide Array of Fire Sprinkler Pumps and Technologies
Jesse explained that, out of the many departments at Armstrong, the fire protection division is showing the most growth. The fire protection division at Armstrong covers a variety of products including fire pumps and even fire packages, including its Enclosed Fire Pump Packages and Engineered to Order Packaged Systems. These systems minimize project and operating risk and feature parts that are in accordance with a variety of standards (NFPA, UL, FM, LPC, and local codes).
Jesse also shared that Armstrong is releasing its Design Envelope Fire Pump Unit. This self-regulating fire pump eliminates safeguard need and also regulates pressure. Since it regulates pressure, this pump cuts down on the need for pressure reducing valves, saving on overhead.
Jesse also mentioned Armstrong’s Pump Manager, a cloud-based subscription service that gives predictive analytics and monitors maintenance needs for Armstrong’s pumps. This service helps the user to stay ahead of any potential maintenance issues.
With all this innovative technologies, it’s no wonder Armstrong is seen as a premier fire sprinkler pump supplier.
Armstrong Pumps and NFSA
Jesse shared that Armstrong is a recent NFSA member, having joined in Spring of 2021. Armstrong joined NFSA to build its market share in the fire protection industry through events and expos. Jesse was recently a guest speaker at one of NFSA’s chapter meetings where he was able to acquaint NFSA contractor members with Armstrong’s impressive line of products.
Jesse mentioned that he looks forward to continuing his efforts with the NFSA to build Armstrong’s brand as a fire sprinkler pump supplier and network with contractors from all over the country.
