Unlisted Sprinklers and Ecommerce – Use Listed Sprinklers

Fire sprinklers are required by NFPA 13, NFPA 13R, NFPA 13D and fire codes to be listed for the intended use. Today, some ecommerce sites offer quick shipping and low prices for fire sprinklers, but buyer and user beware, not all fire sprinklers that are being sold are listed or certified to be installed. Installing unlisted sprinklers do not perform the same or provide any level of protection from fire. Listed fire sprinklers are quickly identified by the sprinkler identification number , manufacturer, a UL or FM approval that lead back to the manufacturers product sheet.
