Registration for Training Seminars

In order to register for ANY NFSA training seminar, in class or online, you must create an individual account.

Create your individual account by selecting “Create NFSA Account”!  Individual accounts give you the ability to track your training transcripts, download certificates instantly for online training and much more!
 

Online Training

Do I need a special software to participate in Tech Tuesday webinars and Online Training?

No.  The only requirement for participation is an internet connection and web browser.  To access NFSA Online Learning, sign into www.NFSA.org by clicking on the sign-in link at the upper right of the NFSA homepage.  Then under “Quick Links” select “Online Learning Log in”.  On the Online Log in page, simply select the log in link near the middle of the page.  You must ensure your popup blockers are off to access this link.

If you are having technical issues accessing the videos once logged into the Online Learning system, please ensure your company firewalls are allowing access to the website.  If you continue to have issues, please contact distantlearning@nfsa.org.

When will my class be available after purchase?

NFSA’s online training system takes approximately 24 hours to process online training purchases.  After registering for an online seminar, the class will be available on your dashboard the next day.

How long will my online class be available to view in my account?

Recorded and interactive online training seminars will be active in your account for 90 days from the date of purchase.  If you do not complete the seminar prior to the 90 days elapsing, you will have to re-purchase the seminar.

Live Technical Tuesday presentations will be available in your account for 30 days from the live air date.  You can register for a live Tech Tuesday well in advance.  The class will become active on the scheduled time and date of the event and will remain active for 30 days.  If you do not complete the seminar within the seminar window, you will be required to purchase the recorded version of the class for credit.

What is the deadline for registering for live Tech Tuesday seminars?

Registration for LIVE Tech Tuesday seminars close 24 hours prior to the live event.  If you do not register for the Live Tech Tuesday during the registration window, you will have to register for the recorded version which should be available the next day.  Please note: LIVE Tech Tuesdays are FREE for members as a member benefit.  If you do not register for the LIVE seminar, you will have to pay to take the recorded version.

What if I miss the LIVE Tech Tuesday presentation?

If you registered for the LIVE Tech Tuesday presentation, the archived version will be available in your account for 30 days from the air date.

Registration for LIVE Tech Tuesday seminars close 24 hours prior to the live event.  If you do not register for the Live Tech Tuesday during the registration window, you will have to register for the recorded version which should be available the next day.  Please note: LIVE Tech Tuesdays are FREE for members as a member benefit.  If you do not register for the LIVE seminar or if you do not watch the recorded version within the 30 day window, you will be required to purchase the recorded version.

Will my certificates and transcripts still be accessible once the class window has elapsed?

Yes!  All completed certificates will still be available for download as long as the quiz was passed prior to the 30 day expiration.  Additionally, a running log of online training transcripts will be available in your account profile.
 

Tech Tuesday

Can a group of people participate in Tech Tuesdays together?

Yes!  However, if you have multiple participants that need credit for the presentation, they must each be enrolled individually.  There is no longer an option to get an email with a list of participants in attendance.

Each participant must have a username and password and be enrolled in the seminar and take the quiz to get credit.  To set up your username and password, click HERE or contact Membership Services at (443) 863-4464.

Do Tech Tuesdays qualify for CEUs?

Yes!  NFSA training, online and in class, are approved for NICET credits.  NFSA Tech Tuesday online presentations and all in class seminars are also approved through ICC.

Tech Tuesdays offered during 2018 are 1.5 contact hours.  Effective January 1, 2019, Tech Tuesdays will qualify for 1.0 contact hour.

NFSA training is accepted by most state and local jurisdictions for continuing education credits.  If you have a question on whether NFSA training is accepted in your area, please contact your NFSA Regional Manager.

What if I miss the LIVE Tech Tuesday presentation?

If you registered for the LIVE Tech Tuesday presentation, the archived version will be available in your account for 30 days from the air date.

Participants must be registered for the live Tech Tuesday prior to the live air date.  Registration for the live Tech Tuesday presentation closes 24 hours prior to the seminar start time.  If registered, NFSA Tech Tuesday presentations will be available in your account for up to 30 days following the live presentation.  Once the 30 day window closes, you will be required to purchase the recorded Tech Tuesday from the online training store in order to view and get credit.

Questions about Certificates

How do I request a certificate from a past in class seminar?

Certificates are provided at the completion of in class seminars.  If a certificate is lost, an electronic copy will be provided at an administrative fee of $10.00 per certificate.  Please contact seminars@nfsa.org to request the certificate.

How do I get a certificate for Tech Tuesdays presentations or online training?

Certificates will be awarded for Tech Tuesday presentations and online training classes for each enrolled participant who completes the quiz.  A “seminar certificate” link will be available following the completion of the quiz and you will be able to download a certificate for your records.  Certificates will only be issued for registered participants.   Please ensure all participants needing credit are registered for the Tech Tuesday seminar.

Cancellation and Refund Policy

What is NFSA’s cancellation policy for training seminars?

Cancellation of one, two and three day seminars

The cancellation policy for all seminars which are one, two or three days in length allows for a full refund if cancelled within seven days of the event start date.  There is no refund for cancellations made within the seven day period.

If a registrant is unable to attend, a registration can be transferred to another individual at any time, including the day of the seminar.  To transfer a registration, please email the request to seminars@nfsa.org.

Cancellation of the two week Layout Technician Training seminar

The cancellation policy for the two week Layout Technician Training seminar is as follows:

  • If cancelled more than 21 days before the start of the program a full refund is provided.
  • If cancelled within 21 days of the event start date, a $250 administrative fee will be charged and the remaining amount will be refunded.
  • If the registration is rescheduled within 21 days of the class start date up to one day prior to the class start date, a $150 administrative fee will be charged in addition to the class fee.
  • If the registration is not rescheduled at least one day prior and the participant does not show up for class, no refund is provided.

*Please note when traveling from distances, there is always the possibility a seminar may be cancelled. You may want to wait when booking flights or hotels or purchase refundable tickets. Notice of a canceled seminar is usually 2 weeks prior to start date. NFSA will NOT reimburse for any travel fees.
 

Continuing Educational Credits (CEUs)

Does NFSA training qualify for continuing education credits.

Yes!  NFSA training, online and in class, are approved for NICET credits.  NFSA Tech Tuesday online presentations and all in class seminars are also approved through ICC.

Payment of Seminars

Can I pay for a seminar by check?

Yes!  To pay by check, simply complete the registration form in its entirety.  When you come to the payment screen, select “Pay by Check”.  This will automatically register you for the seminar and provide an invoice for your records.
