Fire Sprinkler Designer students must complete Layout Technician: Part 1 – Fundamentals. The cost includes textbook and both (25 hours Self-Paced Online)Fundamentals and (in-person or virtual) 3 Day Application Class. All students must complete Fundamentals before the start date of Application.
Prerequisite Before Application: Layout Technician: Fundamentals
Before the Layout Technician: Application class begins, all fire sprinkler designer students must complete Layout Technician: Fundamentals. This online, self-paced module is designed to prepare students for Layout Technician: Application and is included in the registration. Fundamentals must be completed before the Layout Technician: Application start date.
After Fundamentals: Layout Technician: Application
Layout Technician: Application – A 3-day in-person, with a virtual option available, instructor-led class that applies the fundamental content learned in the previous course. Using project-based learning , fire sprinkler designer students apply their knowledge of fire sprinkler layout concepts to a legitimate plan, learning through problem solving, research, and simply doing.

REGISTER FOR FIRE SPRINKLER DESIGNER CLASSES FROM THE EXPERTS WHO WRITE THE BOOK!
NFSA’s Layout Technician Class gives students everything they need to prepare for NICETS Levels I & II.
NFSA’s Fire Sprinkler Layout Design Training prepares professionals for NICET Levels I & II Certifications. The classes include sprinkler selection, sprinkler spacing and location, obstructions to sprinklers, water supplies (public mains, tanks, and pumps), hydraulic calculation of sprinkler systems, and standpipe system layout and calculation.
NFSA’s fire sprinkler designer class includes a hard copy of recently updated and revised “Layout Book” as well as a copy of the 2022 NFPA 13 standard. The Layout Book has been divided into 43 chapters and an annex with each of the chapters grouped into parts that have a basic theme in the layout, detail, and calculation of a fire sprinkler system. There are four parts of the book roughly corresponding to the order in which decisions are made in the process of getting a sprinkler system into a building.
