The Value of Membership

The Benefits of Joining NFSA

Your Expert of the Day

This program is one of our most used member benefits and provides members and member company employees with informal interpretations on industry codes and standards. These opinions are valued for their consistency, logic, and committee insights, and are often relied upon by AHJs when questions arise. Questions can be submitted by phone or email and our EOD will reply promptly.

Your Online Training

NFSA has been working diligently to bring in-class seminars to the virtual environment to make them easier to access. We have already brought the flagship Layout Technician Training to a “blended learning” model, with one week of online training and one-week in class. Our popular Technical Tuesday series continues, and the new online platform will make accessing past classes easier than ever, allowing companies greater ease in scheduling in-house training. NFSA Members receive significant discounts on these courses and registration preference.

Your On-Site Training

NFSA continues to travel the country conducting a wide array of in-class seminars for our members. A sample course catalog is available with links to the syllabus of each seminar through our training department. We value our members’ input on training classes and are always seeking to update and expand our line of classes. NFSA Members receive significant discounts on these courses and registration preference.

Your Local Chapter and Team in the Field

NFSA strives to give our members local resources with national support. Our Regional Managers are the face of the Association at a local level. They provide information and requests to headquarters so that resources can be directed effectively and efficiently. Regional Managers can schedule training, host meetings, advocate at local and state hearings, and be a general resource for your company. NFSA has developed 17 chapters around the country where our members gather to discuss issues regionally impacting fire sprinklers. These chapters host training, generally support the industry, and help advance the widespread acceptance of the fire sprinkler concept.

Your Engineering & Standards Committee (E&S)

The E&S Committee is comprised of industry leading technical experts and is responsible for many of the sprinkler requirements in today’s codes and standards. The committee provides a forum to generate proposals and comments to the NFPA codes and standards, which allows members to have a direct input into the industry guidelines. With representation on more than 50 NFPA Technical Committees, NFSA is one of the largest contributors to the entire NFPA consensus standards-making process.

Your Voice

Side by side burn trailers have crisscrossed our nation and educated tens of thousands on the need for fire sprinklers. In 2017, NFSA made high-profile appearances in major markets including Washington, DC, Chicago, L.A., and New York. NFSA made national appearances on Good Morning America to an audience of over 4 million viewers, and Fox & Friends to an audience of over 2.5 million viewers. In 2018, NFSA will develop marketing collateral to be used by NFSA chapters and allies to further advance our cause—we are sharing the message far and wide.

Your Store

NFSA members receive significant discounts on NFSA Publications and NFSA Inspection forms, which are an industry standard. There is also a wide array of other resources available for your use.

Your Magazine

National Fire Sprinkler Magazine is an exciting and informative bi-monthly publication produced by NFSA. Your magazine includes technical articles, contractor advice, and regional/national news. This excellent resource is a publication available to members only and is also available online.

Your TechNotes

This newsletter keeps members up to date on the changes and proposed changes to the fire sprinkler codes and standards, as well as rapidly developing fire protection technology. This letter is delivered on Tuesdays when live training is not offered.
