NFSA Launches New Individual Membership Categories!
As of November 1, 2018, NFSA developed new Individual Membership categories for both new and renewal members. These categories vary depending on occupation and affiliation but allows the member to pick the membership most representative of their profession. All memberships will continue to receive all NFSA benefits and have access to member-only areas on the website. However, in the future, benefits will be limited based upon membership. By creating these memberships, NFSA can more easily know and understand our members, and their needs.
Membership types vary depending on occupation and affiliation, check below to find what membership you fall under.
Are you a(n):
- Architect – $175.00
Architect membership is open to individuals with an architectural license from a US licensing authority or individuals who have a professional degree in architecture, work under the supervision of an architect, or are a faculty member in a university program in architecture.
- Engineer – $175.00
Engineer membership is open to individuals with a Professional Engineer (PE) license in any engineering discipline except for fire protection or work under the supervision of a professional fire protection engineer.
- Facility/Building Manager or Owner – $175.00
This membership is for individuals with responsibility for maintaining the fire protection and fire suppression systems for a building or buildings. The NFSA Inspection, Testing, and Maintenance Specialist can assist with questions and training related to these critical systems.
- Fire Protection Engineer – $175.00
Fire Protection Engineer (FPE) membership is open to individuals with a Professional Engineer (PE) license in fire protection or a related discipline, or work under the supervision of a professional fire protection engineer.
- General Contractor – $175.00
General Contractor membership is open to those contractors responsible for the day-to-day oversight of a construction site, management of vendors and trades, and the communication of information to all involved parties throughout the course of a building project. These contractors do not design, install, inspect, or maintain for sprinkler systems.
- Insurance and Risk Management Professional – $175.00
Insurance and Risk Management Professional membership is open to those individuals that manage the risk of fire or provide insurance to mitigate the potential losses from fire on a daily basis.
- Real Estate Professional – $175.00
Real Estate Professional membership is intended for those individuals that are engaged in the buying and/or selling of residential or commercial real estate.
- Restoration Professional – $175.00
Restoration Professional membership is intended for those individuals professionally engaged in the restoration of property following damaging events (e.g. fires, floods, or wind)
- Technician or Designer – $175.00
For those technicians and designers that are not employed by an NFSA member but would like to join NFSA. This membership is not intended to replace contractor membership and members are limited one EOD opinion each year.
- Water Purveyor – $75.00
Water Purveyor membership is intended for those individuals employed by A public utility, mutual water company, county water district, or municipality that delivers drinking water to customers.
Are you a(n):
- Elected or Appointed Official – $75.00
For those leaders of our communities that do not fall into another category of membership that serve in either elected or appointed positions.
- Fire Service Official – $50.00
Fire Service membership is intended for those employed by or volunteering for fire departments across the United States. NFSA and the fire service are partners in progress for a better tomorrow when it comes to fire protection.
- Code Official – $50.00
Code Official membership is intended for those individuals working in building or code development or enforcement positions across the United States. NFSA is active in the codes making process and frequently provides recommendations to our partners on upcoming votes and challenges faced in this arena.
- Student – $25.00 (.edu email)
This membership is intended for students or apprentices in fire programs or other construction related degree fields that would like to learn more about fire sprinklers. This membership does not include a printed magazine.
- Retired – $50.00
This membership is for individuals that have retired from the fire sprinkler industry but would like to remain in the know and continue to attend events.
