This class will discuss some of the major difficulties with designing attic protection systems. It will identify how typical construction affects heat movement in attics and how this creates issues using traditional NFPA 13 prescriptive standard requirements. It will then walk through the installation requirements of the Globe Back to Back and Low Flow Specific Application Attic Sprinkler Protection Schemes, clarifying their differences as well similarities. Finally. the class will illustrate how these specially listed systems more effectively address the construction issues presented in attics compared to NFPA 13, as well as how they stack up against each other across attic applications.
