Description:
Air Supply Decisions and Freezer Room Solutions with Ray Fremont Jr, General Air Products
There are a variety of technologies on the market for filling dry pipe sprinkler systems namely compressed air, dry air and nitrogen. Each technology comes with its own pros and cons. When it comes to a freezer room or cold storage facility there is one solution available that works best – dry air. This presentation will go through the factors that make dry air the clear choice for freezer room air supplies. Additionally, we will discuss dry air generators (specifically our brand, the Dry Air Pac) to review operation, installation and maintenance procedures and best practices.

Auxiliary Drain Overview and Best Practices For Cold Storage Applications with Jim McHugh, AGF Manufacturing
Auxiliary Drains (also called low-point drains or drum drips) are required for each section of trapped pipe in a dry or pre-action fire protection system. They collect the moisture that condensates from the pressurized air in the system while minimizing loss of air pressure during maintenance (see NFPA 13, 8.16.2.5.3.5*, A8.16.2.5.3.5). Dry or pre-action fire protection systems need to be maintained by emptying the auxiliary drains that collect water. We will review our COLLECTanDRAIN product line including the newest addition – Model 5500 Fully Automatic Auxiliary Drain. Participants will understand how to prevent system trips from improper maintenance or vandalism, and help prevent system breakdowns as a result of freeze-ups and corrosion.
