March Madness Comes to General Air! | Member Monday
March Madness travelled to Exton, PA this year. NFSA staff was onsite with a fire sprinkler demonstration trailer at General Air Products for “Sprinkler Madness”. The 2-day event, promoted as “two days of fun, information, and industry experience”, featured ten presentations on ten different topics. The first six presentations were provided on the first day with the final four being held on the second day. The event was held at General Air Products’ National Fire Sprinkler Training Center which providing ten total hours of instruction and ten NICET CPDs.
Instruction was provided by a team of NFSA members including AGF Manufacturing, ASC Engineered Solutions, Core and Main Fire Protection, Ferguson Fire and Fabrication, General Air Products, Reliable Automatic Sprinkler Company, SPP Pumps, Victaulic, Viking and Zurn Industries.
Nearly 50 students took advantage of this free educational event which included food, refreshments, games, and prizes. When they weren’t learning about fire protection, participants could take some time out to catch their favorite games on one of the many monitors throughout the facility. It was great to see so many people sharing their knowledge and expertise to help each other (and our industry) grow.
General Air Products’ National Fire Sprinkler Training Center is an impressive facility and provides an immersive learning experience. Traditional desks or long tables have been replaced by round tables. This innovative seating arrangement promotes collaboration, networking, and the sharing of information and experience. The training center also features multiple wet and dry fire sprinkler risers in various configurations. There is also a large collection of related fire sprinkler equipment on display that provides information on corrosion prevention and mitigation, freeze protection, inspection, testing, maintenance (ITM), and much more.
NFSA hopes that “Sprinkler Madness” will become an annual event and is looking forward to participating again in the future. For more information on General Air Products please their site.
