The NFSA Offers Fire Sprinkler Training at the ICC Colorado Conference | Member Monday
Members from team NFSA were on-site in Colorado the past week advocating on behalf of the fire sprinkler industry at the ICC Colorado Chapter expo. Rob Geislinger and Michael Wilson staffed a booth and spoke with hundreds of code officials and firefighters about the benefits of fire sprinklers, particularly the tradeoffs available to communities that adopt fire sprinklers in residences.
This event was not relegated to just code officials in Colorado, however. Over 1,600 attendees came from over a dozen states –some as far as Delaware—to learn more about pertinent updates in the codes arena.
Many of the code officials and firefighters in attendance, as well as a few of the vendors, were NFSA members, so the NFSA staff took the time to listen to any updates they had to share and answer any questions they had regarding their membership. Additionally, the team took time to answer any questions potential members had regarding fire protection and the role NFSA plays in advancing the industry.
At the end of the week, Rob Geislinger taught a 1-day Sprinkler System Plan Review class to about 50 attendees.
The National Fire Sprinkler Association hopes that fire sprinkler training geared to code officials will lead to an easier plans review process for everyone involved in the fire protection industry. The National Fire Sprinkler Association will continue to hold these classes throughout the country in the hopes of fostering improved relationships between fire protection contractors who design systems and the code officials that review them.
