New Next Generation -NFSA Live Fire Sprinkler Trailers

The National Fire Sprinkler Association (NFSA) is not new to designing, building, and using fire sprinkler demonstration trailers. From a two-cell side by side trailer showing the benefits of automatic residential fire sprinkler systems, to a host of trailers with a variety of fire protection systems, NFSA has partnered with many different people and organizations to create these one-of-a-kind trailers, like the five-cell Close before you Doze NFSA Times Square Demonstration side by side partnership with UL-FRSI.

These trailers would not exist without the help of NFSA members and partners that allow projects like this to come to fruition. We are looking forward to expanding our fleet once again with three new next generation trailers.

Two – NFSA Live Fire Sprinkler Demonstration Training Trailers

NFSA will take delivery of the first of two next generation NFSA Live Fire Sprinkler Demonstration Training Trailers on September 29th, 2022. The second trailer will be delivered two weeks later. These trailers will provide training on inspection, testing and maintenance of (ITM) water-based fire systems to authorities having jurisdiction (AHJ), building owners, and facilities and maintenance staff. The trailers will be equipped with wet, dry and pre-action sprinkler valves, floor controls, standpipe riser with pressure-restricting and reducing hose valves and our specially designed 7 ft x 7 ft residential demonstration burn room. The new trailers will complement the fleet NFSA currently offers. The benefits of these trailers are endless, and capable of delivering hands-on training programs anywhere in the country.

New Residential Trailer

We are also happy to announce that we will be adding a new residential 39’ tripled axled burn trailer equipped with several automatic residential fire sprinkler systems. This new trailer will include a tank and pump system designed for areas without a domestic water supply along with other design features, like Chlorinated polyvinyl chloride (CPVC) pipe, Cross-Linked Polyethylene (PEX) pipe, and flow through-passive purge systems. It will also have many unique materials installed to demonstrate how retrofitting an existing home with an automatic sprinkler system is possible. This trailer will focus on and highlight the benefits of residential sprinkler systems. It will also be equipped with a 7 ft x 7 ft residential demonstration burn room. This trailer will provide learning and development opportunities for everyone from home builders to installers to the public, with the goal to provide a better understanding of options for installation and how residential automatic fire sprinklers operate.

We can’t wait to show off these dynamic new trailers and get them rolling around the country in 2023. For more on the NFSA trailers visit this page.
