Member Monday: NFSA Team Exhibits at Sprinkler Fitters Local 709 Open House

NFSA was invited to attend the Local 709 Union Hall Open House on Wednesday July 20, 2022. Lance Gunnells – Labor Relations Manager and Associate Counsel, Michael Phillip – National IP Administrator, and Abbie Gunnells – Membership Relations and Outreach Coordinator were all able to attend this event that promoted fire sprinklers in LA. NFSA  set up a booth where the team provided giveaways and membership information to those interested in joining.

During the event the team heard from the Local 709 Business Manager, Todd Golden, who discussed different training opportunities and events the union is holding. NFSA was also able to present and discuss membership benefits, opportunities available, and events being held by NFSA. Throughout the event the NFSA team was able to meet with both members and non-members, building relationships with current members and getting to know those who are not members.

Thank you to Local 709 for giving us the opportunity to visit and meet with different contractors in the area!

A Visit with Security Fire Protection

fire sprinklers in LAOn Thursday, July 21, 2022, the NFSA team was able to visit a local contractor in the area. Team NFSA stopped by Security Fire Protection to meet their team and learn about their operations. Security Fire Protection has been protecting industrial and commercial buildings in Southern California since 1965 and joined NFSA the same year. Joe Peterson is the 3rd generation owner of the company and expressed that they have always been a family focused company, and the NFSA was able to experience that family environment when visiting. Security Fire Protection specializes in AutoCAD drafting, Building Information Modeling (BIM), system fabrication, and specialized systems for commercial and industrial applications.

Please join us in congratulating Security Fire Protection in their 57 years as a NFSA Member!

Because of companies like them, NFSA can focus on its mission of protecting lives and property from fire through the widespread acceptance of the fire sprinkler concept.

Team NFSA was able to finish off its visit with a trip to the LA Dodgers game with LA Chapter President Randy Howell of Kimble & Company. During that time, the team was able to discuss promoting fire sprinklers in LA and the rest of California.
