NFSA staff had the opportunity to sit down with Pat Dixon, the Eastern Regional Sales Manager for Perimeter Solutions. Pat and the NFSA discussed Perimeter’s history, products, services, and role within the fire protection industry as a firefighting foam supplier.

What Does Perimeter Solutions Offer?

Perimeter Solutions was established in 2018 when SK Capital Partners purchased the business from Israel Chemicals, Ltd (ICL) – but the company’s roots in technology development for fire safety and oil additives stretch back over 50 years and span the globe.

Perimeter Solutions headquarters are in Clayton, Missouri, but several of its brands have offices throughout the world, including Germany, France, Spain, Australia, and Canada. Perimeter Solution’s Research and Development team is also based out of Green Bay, Wisconsin.

Pat explained that Perimeter Solutions Fire Safety and Oil Additive businesses covers a wide variety of firefighting solutions. Those who have watched the news recently have no doubt seen Perimeter’s PHOS-CHEK® in action. PHOS-CHEK® is the material that is dropped from aircraft to suppress wildfires. In addition to PHOS-CHEK®, Perimeter also oversees Solberg, which is what most NFSA members have worked with in the past. Solberg is a Class A and Class B Specialty foam and foam hardware that is designed for fire suppression. Solberg offers a full product catalog of Fluorine free foams for emergency response and fixed fire protection systems.

Products Perimeter Offers

As stated earlier, Perimeter Solutions offers a wide variety of products and services to multiple firefighting disciplines. One such product Pat discussed was the company’s bladder tank systems, which are designed to store firefighting foam. These bladder tank systems can be added to any existing or new fire sprinkler system and are ideal for change of commodity cases where there is an existing sprinkler system in place.

Pat explained that Perimeter Solutions’ Research and Development team will work with UL to list individual heads for water-foam systems. This coordination allows contractors to keep costs down and install Perimeter’s bladder tanks in a wide variety of systems.

What’s more, Perimeter Solutions Technical Services is on call to answer any questions its customers may have when it comes to its products and solutions.

Perimeter Solutions and NFSA

Pat shared that Perimeter Solutions has been a presence at NFSA’s expos in the past, and that his team looks forward to exhibiting in the future. The NFSA is hopeful that Perimeter will make more of its chapter meetings in the future. NFSA also reminds its contractor members to take advantage of Perimeters’ numerous educational opportunities.
