TVSFPE presented a $7,500.00 contribution for a Side-by-Side Burn Trailer

On Wednesday February 19, 2020 I attended a meeting in Oak Ridge, TN at the City of Oak Ridge Fire Departments Central Station. The Tennessee Valley Chapter of the Society of Fire Protection Engineers (TVSFPE) presented a $7,500.00 contribution for the Side-by-Side Fire Sprinkler Demonstration Burn Trailer that is owned by the National Fire Sprinkler Association and operated by the City of Oak Ridge Fire Department. This contribution will go towards rebuilding and buying supplies for the trailer. Each time Oak Ridge Fire Department burns the trailer, they must repair the side without a sprinkler system and provide new furniture. This fire education prop emphasizes the importance of working smoke alarms, residential fire sprinkler systems, the close the door initiative, and much more.

The National Fire Sprinkler Association partners with local fire departments and state agencies across the country to assist in educating the public regarding the importance of residential fire sprinkler systems. The National Fire Sprinkler Association is the “voice” of the fire sprinkler industry, and our mission is to protect lives and property from fire through the widespread acceptance of the fire sprinkler concept.

The Tennessee Valley Chapter of the Society of Fire Protection Engineers (TVSFPE) is an organization that is made up of fire protection engineers, fire officials, and many other professionals. Their mission is to advance the science and practice of fire protection engineering and its allied fields, to maintain a high professional and ethical standing among its members, and to foster fire protection education.

This contribution will go along with their mission statement in advancing the science and education of fire sprinklers. We welcome any question or comments you might have please visit any of our web sites at:
