We are hosting 11 new members of the fire sprinkler industry from across the country at an in-class practicum for the Layout Technician Blended Training Program. Participants have already completed the online portion of the course and are working with our expert staff – Mark Hopkins, PE, Kevin Hall, PE, and Roland Asp, CET, to gain basic knowledge of math, physical science and drafting skills. The practicum will prepare attendees to be productive basic sprinkler layout and detailing technicians. This training is an excellent start to a fire sprinkler industry career can lead to NICET II Certification and position participants within their companies for great careers! This group got a special treat because the Maryland Office of the State Marshal hosted a side-by-side burn demo for the “Engineering Day” of Community Risk Reduction Week. Fire Marshal Brian Geraci (@bsg_mdsfm1) described the importance of residential fire sprinklers in a 15-minute live stream from NFSA Headquarters. Thank you to the Anne Arundel County Fire Department (@AACoFD) for your continued support!
