It is with great sadness that we inform you that our founder and owner, Hal R Sanders, has passed away after a brief illness.

Hal earned his degree in electrical engineering (BEE) from the Georgia Institute of Technology and an ROTC commission in June 1952. He served as Executive Officer of the 21st Chemical Company in Korea until the close of the conflict in 1954. He was a life-long Georgia Tech fan and was pleased that his younger brothers, daughter, and many other relatives also chose to earn degrees from this institution.

In 1971, Hal founded Hal R. Sanders and Associates, a consulting engineering company that offered loss analysis investigative work as well as fire protection system design. Soon afterward, he created HRS Systems in order to begin working on the development of sprinkler system hydraulic analysis software (HASS) and CO2 fire protection software (COOSA).

Our New Leadership

HRS Systems is dedicated to the long-term support of our clients. We are preparing our next generation of products to serve fire protection engineers, contractors, and other professionals.

HRS Systems welcomes our new President and CEO, Sheryl (Sheri) Sanders Prucka. Sheri has served as our Vice President for the past five years.

Sheri holds both Bachelors’ and Masters’ degrees in Electrical Engineering from Georgia Tech (BEE 1982, MSEE, 1984). During her undergraduate studies, she worked for HRS Systems on software development and sprinkler system design. During her masters’ studies, she focused on robotics and medical applications.

A long-time entrepreneur, Sheri founded Prucka Engineering, Inc, focused on building medical instrumentation for Cardiac Electrophysiology. The company was sold to GE Medical Systems in 2000. In her spare time, Sheri coaches high school students in building and programming robots for FIRST Tech Challenge competitive robotics.
