Two Fire Sprinklers Stop Fire in Mixed Use Building in Lowell, Massachusetts

Thank you to Lowell, Massachusetts Fire Officials and NFSA’s Dave LaFond and Michael Young for digging deep and adding much to the backstory of this sprinkler save.
An electrical fire that started in a second floor wall burned undetected and extended vertically and horizontally to the third floor and attic space where two fire sprinkler activated.
Many firefighters and two fire sprinklers managed to prevent this fast-moving fire from completely destroying the building.
The building had underwent renovations overtime which created many void spaces that contributed to the fire not being discovered until the fire alarm system activated.
All residents were able to escape safely, however two firefighters suffered injuries. Read more.
