The Minnesota Chapter of the NFSA provided an information and display booth at the Minneapolis Home and Garden Show on February 22-24.  The booth will be in operation again for the second weekend of the event on March 1-3.  NFSA staff, Minnesota Chapter members, and volunteers from the Minnesota fire service answered hundreds of questions from show attendees.  Events like these are great opportunities to talk one-on-one with people about sprinkler benefits and uses.  We were able to dispel some of the myths surrounding sprinklers; demonstrate how the technology works; and answer questions about cost, operation, and benefits.  Side-by-side burn demonstration videos helped convey important educational points, and those seeking a contractor or an estimate were provided links to the NFSA website and the Minnesota sprinkler contractor list.  The show is a great way to help grow the widespread acceptance of the fire sprinkler concept.
