Incident:
The church conducts a pre-school program each day for about 20-25 children. Staff on this day were melting wax on the stove for a class project. The pot of wax ignited. Staff picked up the pot and proceeded to take it outside.

While in the hallway, a single pendant type sprinkler activated, extinguishing the fire. Miraculously, no one was injured moving the pot, with little damage being reported. The fire department arrived, assisted with ventilation and water evacuation, while all occupants were sheltered in the building due to extreme temperatures outside.
