Sprinkler Save in White Bear Lake, Minnesota One Picture is Worth 1,000 Words!

Thank you to NFSA State Coordinator Joel Hewitt, Jon Nisja of the Minnesota State Fire Marshal Division and James Heinold of F.E. Moran for sending us this sprinkler save!
“This is a save my department responded to this past Saturday. It was at the The Waters in White Bear Lake. The alarm came in at 0933 HRS, our department, along with three auto-aid departments, responded to the initial alarm. This is an assisted living facility with 143 units and is at a 100% occupancy rate. The incapacitated resident of the unit, who was in the bed at the time of the fire, was transported with minor injuries. The save illustrates how one pendant saved a life and significant property in this incident,” Joel Hewitt.
The White Bear Lake Fire Department, along with auto-aid partners, responded to a fire at a senior living facility. When crews entered the structure the fire was virtually extinguished. Slight overhaul was required to confirm all hot spots extinguished. The building, which is two years old, housed a full fire sprinkler system and alarm system. The fire protection/life safety system functioned as designed, saving the building and the occupant who was unable to exit the unit on his own.
