NJFSAB and NFSA Warn about the Dangers of Christmas Tree Fires in Side by Side Burn

The New Jersey Fire Sprinkler Advisory Board and the National Fire Sprinkler Association along with local and State officials teamed up yesterday in a live side by side Christmas tree burn. Those in attendance were able to see just how effective sprinklers were at containing a fire and how devastating a fire is when sprinklers are not present.

The sprinkler-head in the protected room reacted in in under thirty seconds while temperatures in the unsprinklered room rose to above 1300°F.

The NJFSAB and the NFSA would like to thank all of those in attendance, including NFSA members, local and State officials, as well as the Monmouth County Fire Academy for hosting the event.
