Home Fire Sprinkler Demonstration Promotes “Close Before You Doze”

The National Fire Sprinkler Association (NFSA) partnered with the Common Voices fire safety advocacy coalition and the Underwriters Laboratories Firefighter Safety Research Institute to promote the “Close Before You Doze” fire safety initiative with a live home fire sprinkler demonstration in New York City.
To demonstrate the effectiveness of closed doors and fire sprinklers, NFSA coordinated a live side-by-side burn demonstration. Using NFSA’s new three-cell burn trailer, one cell represented a home without fire sprinklers, one cell presented a room with closed doors, and a third cell represented a home with fire sprinklers. This controlled fire sprinkler system demonstration, with NYC Fire Fighters on-hand, was featured on Fox & Friends during National Fire Prevention Week.
Be sure to watch and share this outstanding, professionally-produced video of the event! What a great example of partners in progress!
