Sprinkler Save at Farragut, Tennessee Restaurant

Thank you to Dan Johnson, Fire Marshal for Town of Farragut/Rural Metro for submitting the following sprinkler save.

On October 28, 2018, Rural Metro Fire responded to a reported fire alarm at the Wild Wing Cafe restaurant in Farragut, Tennessee. When units arrived at the single story 15,000 sq. ft restaurant, they initially found the fire alarm activated but no signs of smoke or fire inside the structure.

Upon further investigation, a fire was found in the mechanical room. Fire crews discovered that improperly stored combustibles had ignited in the vicinity of the boiler and had been extinguished by a single sprinkler. No injuries were reported and the fire caused minimal smoke and water damage.

The fire began around 7:00 a.m. The restaurant was open that evening for dinner. That’s the #fastestwater difference!
